THE RAINFOREST ALLIANCE
Dear Steve:
On behalf of all of us here at
the Rainforest Alliance, I would like to thank you for New York City
Swing's stellar performance for our 20th Anniversary Gala
Celebration at the American Museum of Natural History. The guests
thoroughly enjoyed dancing to your music and we greatly appreciate you
accommodating our requests.
This year's Gala was by all accounts a
tremendous success! The extraordinary accomplishments of the Rainforest
Alliance over the last 20 years as well as those of our co-chairs and
honorees were celebrated by over 600 guests. Most importantly, we raised
over $1.5 million to support the Rainforest Alliance's comprehensive
conservation initiatives.
As you know, the Rainforest Alliance works to
conserve biodiversity and ensure sustainable livelihoods by transforming
land-use practices, business practices and consumer behavior. Since our
inception in 1987, diverse ecosystems and the local people that depend
on them, have benefited from the Rainforest Alliance's practical
solutions for sustainable land-use. Some of our recent successes
include:
-Acheiving our first coffee partnership in
Africa with the certification of a group of 678 family farms in Ethopia.
-Certifying a 3.6 million acre forest reserve
run by the Kayapo indigenous people in Brazil.
-Connecting travelers to sustainable
operations with the launch of a the Eco-Index for Sustainable Tourism
website, and the Certified Tourism Products in the Americas
catalog.
It is with sincere gratitude that we thank you

SCHNEIDERS HOSPITAL
For the Past FIVE years, New York City
Swing has been volunteering their musical talents. Several
times a year, they've energized and brightened the day for the young
patients of Schneider Children's Hospital.
Dear Mr. DeQuattro and the New York City Swing:
Once again, thank you for making our summer
barbecue such a pleasure. Your presence there helped to make the
afternoon one of fun and enjoyment. Having some of the children play
your drums was wonderful.
The expressions on their faces and their
enjoyment of the music I'm sure created lasting memories for the
patients and their families.

What a great week we had in New York
at the Republican National Convention! It's hard to believe that it has
come and gone so quickly. The Convention was a great inspiration for all
Republicans and has yielded much enthusiasm for President George W.
Bush's re-election campaign. On behalf of the entire Ohio delegation,

It has been such a pleasure to work
with you while planning hte Horizon Boat Cruise and Gotham Hall events.
